We'd like to introduce you to our team...

Alan Butler, the managing director, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976 after training with a large Nottingham practice where he remained for a number of years as an audit manager.  Alan formed the predecessor to this practice in 1983, trading under the title of  A F Butler & Co. in 1983.

The new corporate trading style commenced in November 2005 as Butler Cook Accountants Ltd. Trading as Butler Cook.

Alan has extensive experience in all aspects of Accounts and Taxation and enjoys a particular interest in new start-ups, strategic planning for business growth and tax planning in particular.

When not working Alan enjoys playing golf, supporting Nottingham Forest (hard work at the moment!), holiday travel and following on the success of his children in athletics is now assisting Notts AC as a time-keeper official.

Andrea Butler is our business administration director and holds a Diploma in Management Studies and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management. Andrea has worked in the practice since it’s commencement.

Rest of the Team – As well as the directors there are a further 6 support staff. These are a mix of qualified, part-qualified and administrative employees.

Jeremy Cook, is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has known Alan since they where at college together. He is no longer a partner in the practice after having to move from the area for family reasons, but is still in regular touch as a consultant to the practice and often provides holiday cover for Alan.
